Media Internship Information

    Internship is an important stage for practical training for each student. It is important to apply any acquired skills in practice, and if you can use finance coursework help at the university, then in real life you need to meet certain parameters to get a job in the future. New Media Internship Information Interns will work directly with their Team Coordinators and other staff and are responsible for increasing awareness of and commitment to the Student World Assembly's mission. Interns will work among a broad range of audiences, most particularly opinion leaders, educators, policymakers, and the general membership. Internships are unpaid but may be done for academic credit or on a volunteer basis. A candidate must be an undergraduate student; a graduate student; or have graduated from college within twelve months at the beginning of the internship. Interns are expected to work between 15-20 hours a week. Internships are offered during the Summer, Fall, and Winter/Spring semesters. Interns may receive academic credit if an agreement is made between the SWA and the intern's college or university.

    Required Skills:

    Knowledge of MS Office products, and internet navigation; ability to organize administrative projects; demonstrate clear and effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to meet deadlines and maintain a flexible schedule; strong diplomatic skills in dealing with people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds; awareness of and sensitivity to a variety of cultural perspectives; awareness of prominent global issues.


    Production: The applicant should have significant experience and familiarity with Final Cut Pro. Candidates should have experience in setting locations to film (lights, camera, computers, etc.) as well as be comfortable filming. Web Developer/Design: The applicant should be comfortable developing/designing visual interfaces and coding in HTML. Candidates should have knowledge of at least one or more of the following applications: DreamWeaver, FrontPage, Flash, Access, and Photoshop or Fireworks. Web Programmer: Should have experience in the programming language of ASP.Net, and JavaScript and have some background in web servers and database design. Graphic Designer: Proficiency with Photoshop is required. Knowledge of Flash, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, or other software is a plus but optional. Primary Responsibilities:


    Each Intern will be responsible for one or more of the following tasks depending on their abilities:

    • Develop and maintain a website to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and consistency of site
    • Writing efficient web applications and maintaining and redesigning existing web applications using ASP.NET
    • Design, develop and maintain databases.
    • Creating and linking databases to the user interface.
    • Create designs, concepts, and layouts for websites, publications, advertisements, and other printed and graphic materials.
    • prepare comprehensive layouts of the design using techniques such as photography, illustration, and computer-generated imagery
    • Assisting in collaboration and design of marketing tools
