I completely agree that students benefit from project-based learning and being able to apply what they learn to the real world. I wonder when we lost this concept in schools? I'm glad it's back. Could I add to your second point? "Teachers have the freedom, vision, drive, experience and district support..." These were almost the downfall of a STEM middle school where I was the "engineer in the classroom" paid by my company to teach students robotics, CAD and 3D Printing. New teachers hired in subsequent years did not all necessarily get the vision, have the experience or retain support from their leadership. The school is still a great opportunity, but not like it was the first year it opened. less
