Macrocosmic Presence of Mathematics

Your hopes, your desires, everything you did, do, or will ever do rest within numbers; Mathematics contains all the answers to all the questions in this macrocosm; the secret to immortality, eternal happiness, and the meaning of life rest within numbers. We are afloat on a hidden ocean of mathematical equations. Without these mathematical equations, modern technologies would have not been invented. If we are able to harness the power of numbers, then we will be able to invent a better future.

There is that notion what will we do with all the mathematics? Algebra, calculus, and differential equations to name a few are useless. The time has come to dispel that notion. Mathematics is the science and study of magnitude, multitude, structure, space, limits, function, infinite series, and the study of numbers. The power of mathematics is a macrocosmic affair.  There are many reasons as to why we should continue with the teaching, and learning of mathematics. Mathematics is embedded in electronic devices as algorithms that define this modern world. Mathematics powers our financial institutions from security to password. Numerical values define the world we live in. All objects in the macrocosm are defined by numbers. As it is known today, a characteristic or non-mathematical object is yet to be found. Everything that is touched or will be touched is a number; everything that is created or will ever be created is a number. Human being is a number or the next one that will be born. In fact, number is everything. Emotions, feeling, love, hatred, beauty, and so on are just numbers.

Indeed, without mathematical equations modern technologies would have been very difficult to achieve; the basic understanding of us and the rest of the universe could have been very challenging. In fact, these mathematical equations rule the world. It is to some extent impossible to name all the equations that make possible the many things we take for granted. The wave equation that makes talking, using the internet possible. Wave is ubiquitous; therefore, we have been bombarded constantly by it.  While these mathematical equations do not exist in the physical world, they underlie much of modern technologies, from radio, power generation, electronic devices, musical instruments, and so on. The following are some of the mathematical equations that influence our daily life.
  • James Clerk Maxwell's four equations on electromagnetism
  • Navier Stokes equation that describes how air flows over and around it
  • Newton's law of motion and gravity which help in the geo-positioning of satellites and set their orbits
  • The wave equation that allows us to listen to live broadcasting over the radio and so on
  • In 1807, Joseph Fourier devised an equation for heat flow. The result is the Fourier's transform; an equation that treats a time varying signal as the sum of series of component sine curves and calculate their amplitudes and frequencies.
Real life applications of mathematics use equations as mathematical models. Mathematical models are used to represent actual data. In so doing, simplicity and accuracy must be considered. The model must be simple enough to be workable, yet accurate enough to produce meaningful results. These models are important; they allow us to predict or forecast future outcomes. Here is an example. A city population was 3,687,000 in 1990 and 4,042,000 in 2000. Over this ten year period how do we calculate the rate of change?
The rate of change is given as: Rate of change = Change in population/ change in years Rate of change = 4,042,000-3,687,000/2000-1990 = 35, 500 people per year If the population continues to increase at the same rate for the next 20 years (2020) that city will have a population of (35,500 * 20) + 4,042,000 = 4,742,000 people This was the calculation of average rate of change. An average rate of change is always calculated over an interval. In the case presented the interval was 1990, 2000.

Every decision is reached to a predefined set of numbers that we refer to as pattern; a pattern is to some extent unique to every individual.

To conclude, your hopes, your desires, everything you did, do, or will ever do rest within numbers; Mathematics contains all the answers to all the questions in this macrocosm; the secret to immortality, eternal happiness, and the meaning of life rest within numbers.
We are afloat on a hidden ocean of mathematical equations. Without these mathematical equations, modern technologies would have not been invented. If we are able to harness the power of numbers, then we will be able to invent a better future.
