STEM disciplines are empowering society in unprecedented ways; these disciplines are at the core of all innovations. Engaging in these fields will change the way we solve the world’s most pressing challenges.
Tremendous societal and economic benefits are linked to STEM; these disciplines are important to address current and future challenges in the U.S. and on a global scale; and they provide new, imaginative ways to embellish life.
A fundamental requirement for growth is for the STEM community to attract and engage people from all segments of our society. Diversity and inclusiveness are essentials for the development of innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing problems and to enhance life.
STEM education fosters creativity, invites diverse points of view, promotes entrepreneurship and offers appropriate role models for all. To drive the economy into the 21st century, there is a sense of urgency to equip the future generation with the skills and experiences that will prepare them to be leaders. For any given nation to have a robust economy in a complex world, the ability to harness science, technology, engineering, and mathematics is imperative.
